First, a reminder that our special ‘February Doubleheader’ is next weekend. On Friday there’s Debra Granik’s ‘thought-provoking and life-affirming’ film Leave No Trace, followed on Saturday evening by our annual Movie Quiz. Buy tickets online here or in person at Chorleywood Bookshop.
And then over the weekend of 13-15th March, we have the fourth annual Chorleywood Film Festival – brought to you in conjunction with Chorleywood Bookshop and sponsored by Ultimate Destinations.
The programme includes three first-rate feature films (Judy, The Keeper and Farmageddon – the latest Shaun The Sheep Movie). On Saturday afternoon (14th March) the special session devoted to the 2020 Mini Movie Maker and Young Filmmakers Competitions takes place. We’ll be screening all the entries, announcing the results, presenting the awards – plus, two of Britain’s leading film directors will be joining us.
Leave No Trace (Cert.12 : 109mins) is being screened at The War Memorial Hall, Common Road next Friday (21st February). For more information and to watch the film’s trailer, please click here.
Doors and bar open at 7.30pm, the programme begins at 8.00pm. Tickets £6 (Under 15s: £3) from the Bookshop, online or on the door, if still available.
Next Saturday (22nd February) our annual Movie Quiz is also at the War Memorial Hall. Come with friends, colleagues and neighbours (maximum team size of eight), come as an individual or couple and we’ll put teams together on the night. You don’t need to be an all-out ‘film nerd’ to fully enjoy the evening.
Tickets (advance sales only) £10 per person: available from the Bookshop or online. The price includes a cheese platter supper and nibbles. A bar serving both alcoholic and non-acoholic drinks will be available throughout the evening. Doors open 7.30pm, the Movie Quiz starts 8.00 pm.
