According to the BBC’s Art Correspondent Will Gompertz, Charlotte Prodger’s Turner prize winning film,’Bridgit’, captures many themes of contemporary life with a thoughtful, poetic meditation, exploring identity, gender, nationhood and how our subjective views can change. It’s all encapsulated in a 32 minute film, shot on an iPhone which would have been impossible to make when the Turner Prize was first awarded in 1984. However it’s now within the grasp of anybody with a smartphone and a story to tell – a development that should really inspire entrants to our own Mini Movie Makers and Young Film-makers Competitions.
