Our next presentation is writer-director Kore-eda Hirokazu's bittersweet, compelling drama Like Father, Like Son (Cert: PG, 121 mins, English subtitles).

This successful screening took place on Saturday 13th June and featured the big-screen adaptation of Khaled Husseini's bestselling novel - The Kite Runner (Cert:12/122mins) - directed by Marc Forster.

Directed by Morgan Matthews, the film centres on teenage maths prodigy Nathan (Asa Butterfield), diagnosed at an early age as being on the autistic spectrum, who struggles when it comes to building relationships with other people - including his mother, Julie (Sally Hawkins). In a world difficult to comprehend, he finds comfort in numbers.
