In the run up to this weekend’s Film Festival, we are turning the spotlight on each of its’ four sessions in turn…
On Saturday afternoon (14th) we celebrate the talents of the local children and young people who have submitted entries to our annual filmmaking Competitions.
This year we have received over thirty entries across the four school-year group categories. Come and see them all on the War Memorial Hall’s big screen and find out which have been chosen as finalists and winners.
The Competitions’ Judging Panel of leading British film directors, David Yates (also the Festival’s patron) and BAFTA winning Graham Ralph – plus the Film Club’s very own Eleanor Dolan – will be on hand to announce the results and present this year’s awards.
As additional treats we will also be screening: the pilot episode of Graham’s prospective new TV series Crazy Cavemen; Eleanor’s brand new film The Brass Elephant in The Room and Marty Kristian’s powerful new musical ‘short’ Walt ‘n’ Matilda.
And once again, MC extraordinaire, Martin Clarkson, will be gliding us through the afternoon’s packed programme.
In previous years this session has been a Festival standout – expect the same this time too! Doors open at 11.45 am and the session starts at 12 noon. Entry is free but subject to the War Memorial Hall’s capacity limitations – so come early to ensure admission. Light refreshments & Bar available.
Tickets for all the Festival’s feature films – Judy, The Keeper and Farmageddon – can be obtained online, in person at Chorleywood Bookshop – or on the door, if still available.
In relation to current Coronavirus public health concerns – we strongly urge everyone attending Festival sessions to follow the NHS’s medical and personal hygiene advice & guidance (see: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/).
