Chorleywood Film Club and Chorleywood Bookshop proudly present the village’s 3rd Annual Film Festival – a long weekend celebrating film and film-making.

Thursday 7 March, 8pm

Movie Quiz Night (Doors open at 7.30pm)

Following its successful introduction last year, our Movie Quiz is back by popular demand! With questions set by the Film Club’s resident Quizmaster, the event provides a fun-filled opportunity to test your own and your team’s film knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere.

Tickets are only available from the Bookshop and in advance:
£10 per person – including a cheese platter.

Rupert Everett gives an outstanding performance as Oscar Wilde, depicting the fallen star in the final years of his life following his release from prison. We see a markedly different screen Wilde; frailer and more diminished yet whose wit and creativity endures. Directed & written by Rupert Everett. This second film in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter prequel sees Magi-zoologist, Newt Scamander being recruited by Albus Dumbledore to thwart Grindelwald’s plans of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested in an increasingly divided wizarding world. Directed by David Yates; Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler. (Moderate fantasy threat).

Mini Movie Makers & Young Film-makers Results & Awards (Doors open 2.00pm)

Join us for this session where entries in both Competitions will be shown. On hand to announce the winners and present the Chorleywood Film Festival Awards will be our Judging Panel of award-winning film directors – David Yates, Graham Ralph & Ed Foster. David, the Festival’s patron will also be interviewed by Martin Clarkson, our MC for the afternoon.

We join forces with the Twinning Association to screen this French biopic of Jacques Cousteau, the French David Attenborough. During the 1960s this highly influential and fearlessly ambitious aquatic pioneer, innovator, filmmaker, researcher and conservationist – introduced worldwide audiences to the unseen wonders of the deep. However, his expeditions and infidelities took their toll on his wife and their sons. Directed by Jérôme Salle. Starring: Lambert Wilson, Pierre Niney, Audrey Tautou.
