Friday 20th March 2026 – I Swear (2025: 15: 121mns)
Our film for March is based on the powerful true-life story of John Davidson, a Tourette syndrome campaigner who grew up with the condition in 1980s Scotland, at a time when it was little known and misunderstood. I SWEAR is a moving, uplifting account of his life. Directed by Kirk Jones, it features outstanding performances from Robert Aramayo, Peter Mullan, Shirley Henderson and Maxine Peake. The film is a frank, funny and touching story about the transformative power of friendship and community.
“Empathetic, funny and myth-busting, it gives you permission to laugh at the situation while feeling only compassion for the man.” Philip de Semlyen, Time Out
“It is a drama with three-dimensional people, facing three-dimensional problems and dealing with them… I absolutely loved it.” Mark Kermode
