Movie Quiz Night (Doors open at 7.30pm)

Come and test your film knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere at the Festival’s opening event. With questions compiled by the Film Club’s own resident Quizmaster, using stills, film clips and soundtracks, it promises to be a great evening.

Tickets are only available in advance: £10 per person to include light refreshments.

This BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated film is a stunning visual treat.  The first ever fully oil-painted feature film brings Vincent Van Gogh’s extraordinary painting style vividly to life. It takes us through the artist’s last days and explores the mystery of his death. Exciting morning session for younger people and families (Doors open 9.15am)

Young film makers competition
The winner in each of the Competition’s 3 age group categories (7-11, 12-15 and 16-18) will be announced and their winning entries shown.

We will also be showing Poles Apart (2017: 12 mns).
When a tough female polar bear and an enthusiastic male grizzly bear are brought together by changing habitats and lack of food in a melting Arctic, she has to decide whether the ‘grizzly’ is her food – or her friend. BAFTA 2018 winner for the Best British Short Animation – written, directed and animated by National Film & Television School graduate, Paloma Baeza, as well as Ser En Low.

Special Guest – David Yates
The director of the last four Harry Potter films and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will be joining us in person to talk about his career in film making and take part in a Q&A session with the audience.
